How to Find Your Ring Size

Discovering the perfect fit is just as important as choosing the perfect diamond. Follow our simple at-home measuring guides below to find your exact ring size.

Method 1: String or Paper

Step One

Wrap a string, piece of paper, or fabric around the base of the finger on which you plan to wear your ring.

Step Two

Make sure the string, fabric, or paper is snugly wrapped, but not tight; and make a marking at the point where it overlaps.

Step Three

To determine your ring size, measure the length in millimeters with a ruler. Refer to the circumference/length column in the chart below.

Method 2: Measure an Existing Ring

Step One

Choose a ring with a snug fit which is not too tight or loose on your intended finger.

Step Two

Using a ruler, measure the diameter of the ring from one inside edge to the other inside edge in millimeters.

Step Three

To determine your ring size, refer to the measurement conversion chart provided below with your calculated diameter.

Measure When Warm

Fingers change size throughout the day. For the most accurate measurement, measure in the evening at comfortable room temperature when your fingers are at their normal size.

Account for Knuckles

If your knuckle is noticeably larger than the base of your finger, measure both points and pick a size midway between them so the ring slides comfortably over the knuckle.

What is the average ring size for women and men?+

The average ring size for women is US 6 to 7 (16.5mm - 17.3mm diameter). For men, the average is US 9 to 10 (18.9mm - 19.8mm diameter).

Should I size up or down if I am between ring sizes?+

We recommend choosing the larger size. Wider ring shanks (over 2mm) fit more snugly on the finger than delicate thin bands, so sizing up provides the most comfortable fit.

What time of day is best to measure ring size?+

Measure at the end of the day when your hands are warm. Fingers tend to be slightly smaller in the morning and in cold weather, which could result in a tighter fit.
